Los Angeles Anime Expo Event (01/07/2010~04/07/2010)

Our fellow colleagues who have taken part in the event: Anime Expo in Los Angeles have returned and submitted the photos they have taken. After going through the whole batch, I have selected a few to highlight to our readers out there.

Apart from the photos, one of our colleagues, Kim, would like to thank the people he has met on this trip:

"We feel honored to have been invited to join Anime Expo 2010 in Los Angeles. We would like to thank everyone present for your keen and kind attention regarding our company, Bushiroad. We would also like to thank the players out there for your interest in our trading card games, especially Weiß Schwarz, as I noticed some players visited our booth several times a day.

I was pleasantly surprised and am still in awe to witness how fast the players understood the rules and explanations regarding Weiβ Schwarz and picked up the game. We sincerely hope that you have enjoyed yourselves at the event.

We in turn have enjoyed playing the card game, Weiß Schwarz, with the players in L.A. We will exert our best efforts in order to introduce our company's trading card games to the overseas market. Therefore, we sincerely ask for your kind assistance and advise to enable our company to establish our products in the United States of America.

Thank you!"

It seems like they had a very warm reception at the event. Here are some more photo highlights of the time they spent in L.A.:

Ah, the start of the day...

The crowd has started to gather

Let's not forget, Bushiroad also has other card games like Chaos, Victory Spark and AlicexCross... XD

Based on the players' response from this event, it seems that we might need to produce more English decks for the U.S. market soon

Who knows, maybe even AlicexCross in the future...? Xp

Gunbladeuser-
We will try our best! ^_^
In the meantime, there are fan groups out there who are working very hard to ensure that other players understand the effects in Japanese text by translating them to English or Chinese...
For English, there is: http://ws.nk-ds.org/

Calvin-
If I recall correctly, you are currently based in Canada? Wouldn't it be very tiring to travel to L.A.? o.O

Yeah it would have been, but it would have been worth it if I knew your reps would have been there.

Calvin-
My apologies, as we were tagging along with Circus on this event and did not publicize beforehand. I will try to update upcoming events as much as I can on this blog in the future.

Please
Please
Please do that thing with the English and the Weiß Schwarz and the producing and the distribution and all those things once again and together so we can have the fun time and such yadda yadda yadda.

I mean, I would love to spread the game out if I could, but it's kind of hard to rope in people when all you have is Disgaea. Not everyone is in for Disgaea, surprisingly, and the lack of diversity due to only having one deck hurts something heavy.

Chronomaster-
Thank you for the enthusiasm in our Weiβ Schwarz card game. We will try our best to expand the English selection further in the near future. v^_^

We have already submitted international license requests to the various parent companies and will be able to produce cards in other languages once they approve. Keep your fingers crossed... x^_^x

It was a lot of fun playing the demo games, I was one of the people who kept coming back! Although I only played once. I bought the English Disgaea deck about a year ago, but thanks to this event I was able to understand it more.
Hope to see more soon!

Good to hear that you had fun ^_^
Is there any other series which you like among the other titles for Weiβ Schwarz?

It's hard to choose only one...
on the Weiβside I would want Index/Railgun the most but Haruhi and Lucky Star would be good too.
And for Schwarz I would want Fairy Tail the most but Persona 3 and 4 are very close 2nd.

if I had to choose one, I guess I would choose Index/Railgun.

cAPSLOCK-
Nah, this is just a chat and not a survey, lol XD

You don't really have to choose 1, just asking for your favourite series... whatever localizations we can do will also largely depend on the international licenses we can obtain ^_^

I see, Railgun/Index... not surprising as this is the hottest series since Nanoha overseas... ^_^b
